New Delhi, Oct. 17 -- In an extension to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) family, former state president of PDP's Scheduled Caste wing Vijay Anand along with six others joined in the saffron party in the presence of its state president Jagdish Bhagat and state spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan.
Accompanied by Himanshu, Ravi Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, John Sotra, Ajay Kumar and Sanjay Kumar, Anand joined in the party's Scheduled Caste wing.
"These people were not treated as citizens of the state and their educated children could not apply for the government jobs or other benefits," said Bhagat adding further that the party's move of abrogating Article 370 is to benefit the weaker sections of the society.
