New Delhi, Dec. 22 -- The Maharashtra State Election Commission on Sunday announced the final results of the Nagar Panchayat and Nagar Parishad elections 2025, indicating a decisive performance by the BJP-led MahaYuti alliance across the state.

According to official figures, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 117 posts of municipal council presidents, while its allies Shiv Sena secured 53 and the Nationalist Congress Party won 37.

On the opposition side, the Indian National Congress bagged 28 posts, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) won seven, and Shiv Sena (UBT) secured nine.

Overall, the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP combine won 207 posts of municipal council presidents, while Congress, NCP (SP), and Shiv Sena (UBT) together won 44 posts.
