New Delhi, Jan. 20 -- Atishi, Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, has written to Amit Shah seeking an appointment to discuss what she described as the rapidly deteriorating law and order situation in the national capital.

In her letter dated January 19, 2026, Atishi expressed concern over a series of violent incidents reported in recent weeks, including murders, robberies, gang wars and shootouts. She said these incidents have created a climate of fear among residents and raised serious questions about public safety in the city.

The AAP leader pointed to multiple recent cases to underline her concerns, stating that repeated episodes of violent crime indicate a breakdown of policing and effective law enforcement. ...
