New Delhi, May 27 -- Having entered India after travelling from Africa through Yemen, Iran and Pakistan, huge swarms of locusts have brought nightmares to the farmers in many Indian states at a time when India is struggling with the deadly Coronavirus.

After adversely affecting the crops in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, the swarms of locusts have now entered Uttar Pradesh, making the situation even more alarming as the locusts is spreading across the country at an extremely fast rate.

The locust attack has damaged 5 lakh hectares of crop in Rajasthan alone while in Madhya Pradesh nearly 17 districts have seen their terror. If authorities failed to curb the fast-spreading swarms by June when monsoon rains spur rice...
