New Delhi, April 5 -- As a precautionary measure to check the rise of COVID-19 cases, the Assam government has made it mandatory that air passengers, coming from Mumbai and Bengaluru to Assam, will have to produce RT-PCR negative reports.

However, the order will come into effect from April 9, 2021.

The principal secretary to the health department of the Assam government has issued an order in this regard on Saturday.

"All air passengers from Mumbai and Bengaluru disembarking in any airport in Assam will mandatorily need to carry a negative RT-PCR report, conducted within 72 hours prior to undertaking the journey," the order said.
