New Delhi, June 3 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the BJP-led Delhi government over a series of demolition drives targeting slum dwellings. According to AAP leaders, slum homes in Madarasi Camp were demolished on June 1, just a day after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reportedly assured that no slum would be touched.
AAP Delhi in-charge Saurabh Bharadwaj accused the BJP of deceiving slum residents, highlighting that BJP leaders had previously stayed overnight in these same slums during election campaigns, claiming solidarity with the poor. "Now those very families are being rendered homeless," he said, calling it a grave betrayal.
