New Delhi, Oct. 30 -- A political controversy has erupted in the capital after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the BJP-led Delhi government of wasting public funds on an unsuccessful attempt to conduct artificial rain as part of its pollution-control measures.

According to AAP leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj, the Delhi government had earlier announced that cloud seeding would be carried out after Diwali to reduce air pollution. The process, initially scheduled for October 29, reportedly failed to produce rainfall in any part of the city, despite official claims of successful cloud seeding in multiple areas.
