New Delhi, May 13 -- A 500-kilowatt capacity solar power plant was inaugurated today at the Delhi Assembly complex. The foundation stone was laid by Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta.

The Delhi CM said that This project is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "PM Surya Ghar Solar Rooftop Scheme" and marks a major step towards promoting green energy in the capital. The plant will not only generate clean and sustainable energy but also ensure savings of several lakhs of rupees in electricity costs every month.
