Kathmandu, Oct. 6 -- The Kathmandu District Court on Sunday ordered the arrest of former Speaker of the Nepal Parliament, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, who resigned from his post last week after an allegation of rape by a member of his staff.

The woman had filed a complaint at the Baneswor Police Station on Friday night, and the Court has acted on that complaint, making it possible for Police to arrest Mahara and begin investigation.
