Three Dead, 14 Injured in Road Accident in Northern Morocco
Rabat, May 25 -- Three people were killed and 14 others injured in a traffic accident on Saturday in Tangier, northern Morocco, local authorities from Tangier's prefecture said.
Morocco is known to have a high rate of traffic accidents. The US Department of State released its 2019 report on Crime & Safety in Morocco. The report describes Moroccan traffic as "erratic, aggressive, and even reckless."
"On average, more than 11 Moroccans die in motor vehicle accidents every day; the fatality rate for motor vehicle accidents is approximately twice that of the U.S," the report said.
