Markets opens on a higher note in early trade

Mumbai, Sept. 11 -- Indian markets on Wednesday rose 130 points in early trade tracking the gains in Asian stock makets.
At 10.15 am, benchmark Sensex index rose 0.35% or 129.92 points to 37275.37 while Nifty index was up 0.33% or 36.35 points to 11,039.40.
The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index was up 0.71%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 1.04%. Both these indices outperformed the Sensex.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was strong. On the BSE, 652 shares rose and 262 shares fell. A total of 54 shares were unchanged.
The domestic stock markets were shut yesterday, 10 September 2019, on account of Muharram.
