India rupee weak in line with Asian peers
New Delhi, Nov. 19 -- The Indian rupee was weak against the US dollar on Tuesday, taking cues from other Asian currencies.
At 09:08 am, the rupee traded at 71.99 to a dollar, down from its previous close of 71.84. The currency had opened at 71.95 a dollar, and so far today touched a high of 71.92 and a low of 72.01.
The yield on the 10-year bond fell 2 basis points to 6.46% from its Monday's close of 6.48%.
The benchmark equity index Sensex gained 0.4% or 171.17 points to 40455.36 points in pre-opening trade. Since January, the index has gained 12.2%.
