New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- Gold prices edged lower today after hitting new highs on Wednesday. On MCX, October gold futures fell 0.75% to Rs.37,931 per 10 grams, tracking lower global rates. On Wednesday, gold futures had hit record high of Rs.38,488. Silver also came off highs today, with September contracts on MCX dipping 0.50% to Rs.43,565. In spot markets on Wednesday, gold prices surged over Rs.1,000 to approach record high levels of Rs.38,000 per 10 gram in Delhi amid a global rally.
