New Delhi, March 25 -- There seems to be no stopping Akshay Kumar's consistency at the box office. The actor is on his way to recording his ninth hit in a row, with his latest release, Kesari clocking in Rs.78 crore over its opening weekend.

"Kesari roars, sets the box office on fire and emerges the biggest opener of 2019 (so far)," tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh about the film that made Rs.21.50 crore on Thursday, the highest first day figure for the year so far. "After limited shows in the morning/noon (due to Holi festivities), the business witnessed massive growth from 3 pm/4 pm onwards. Evening shows saw terrific occupancy."
