India, Aug. 17 -- It was indeed a pleasure to hear the 92-minute speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Independence Day, at the Red Fort, mainly focusing on addressing the internal challenges including citizens (found mention 47 times) and water (24 times in the speech) water purification, waste water treatment, rainwater harvesting and micro irrigation.
The PM informed the nation that Rs 3.5 lakh crore has been earmarked for 'Jal Jeevan Mission' ? a national project with a goal to achieve in next five years which is four times been managed in the past 70 years.
Being an economist, I am extremely happy to observe the commitment of the PM for optimum utilization of the opportunity to seek 'sab ka vikas, sab ka sath and sab ka vishwas' ...
