India, Sept. 7 -- ISRO in a statement said that the lander Vikram was scheduled to powered descent between 0100 to 0200 hrs IST on September 7, which would be followed by touchdown of Lander between 0130 to 0230 hrs IST. The lander -Vikram and rover- Pragyan will touchdown at high plain between two craters, Manzinus C and Simpelius N, at latitude of about 70 degree south.

"The lunar South Pole is especially interesting because of the lunar surface area here that remains in shadow are much larger than that at the North Pole. There is a possibility of the presence of water in permanently shadowed areas around it.
