SHILLONG, March 20 -- The decision made by the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government to shift the entry point in Ri Bhoi district to Umling has not gone down well with the village authority of 19th Mile, Pahammawlein.In a memorandum shot off to Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Wednesday, the headman of the village, J Sylliang questioned the legality of the government's decision to shift the location of the entry point from 19th Mile, Pahammawlein.

Justifying his argument, Sylliang said that the setting up of the entry point near the Toll Plaza at 20th Mile raises the question as to how the state will turn away visitors without valid documents after they have paid toll in the said plaza.
