Shillong, Sept. 20 -- The students from national capital- Delhi on September 20 (Friday) came out in huge numbers to be part of the world participating in global climate strike by staying out from school; some part had even organized sensitizing programme for students in the classroom. In the case of Meghalaya, which is embroiled in the ban of unscientific rat-hole coal mining by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), remained as mute spectator to the world's greatest youth movement sparked off by 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, a Swedish Environmental Activist who is credited with raising global awareness of the risks posed by climate change, and with holding politicians to account for their lack of action on the climate crisis.
