SHILLONG, April 17 -- With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) having stated in its manifesto that it will move for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) if returns to power after these Lok Sabha polls, the party's minister in Meghalaya, AL Hek has opined that states should be given the right to decide whether or not to do so within their own respective jurisdictions."If the BJP are hell-bent to implement the CAB in the country, we will tell the national leaders that we have no issue but it has to be a state subject and handled by the state the way they want and it cannot be a blanket CAB," said Hek.
