SHILLONG, June 25 -- The state government is on the job to indentify suitable location for allowing the hawkers and street vendors to resume their livelihood activities, informed the Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong on Thursday."We have asked the Chief Secretary to work out with the Urban Affairs Department and Municipal Board for identifying such places, where we can allow them (hawkers) to carry out their daily businesses," Tynsong told reporters. His statement came as a reaction after a delegation of the hawkers and street vendors sought the intervention of Chief Secretary, M. S. Rao to address the problems faced by them in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
