TURA, May 19 -- While the rest of the world and India is going through the biggest lockdown in the history of mankind, unscrupulous saw mill owners in the plain belt of Garo Hills min Meghalaya, seem to be thriving in the absence of authorities.As per sources from the area, the mills began to functioning on a normal basis for more than 3 weeks now, with thousands of sawn trees now lining most of the saw mills.

Sources said the areas that were up and running in terms of saw mills were the villages of Belbari, Gomaijhora, Wadagokgre near Old Bhaitbari and Patharkata, all in the plain belt of West Garo Hills between Phulbari and Rajabala.
