SHILLONG, June 26 -- Privately run hostels and paying guests have been directed by the state government not to take fees from students."A notification on this regard will be issued tomorrow," the Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong told reporters after a review meeting held on Friday.

Asked, Tynsong said that proprietors of privately run hostels as well as paying guests are directed to cease from charging rent to students, who have returned to their homes due to the lockdown, from April 1 till further orders. "However, for students who decided to continue their stay in the hostels will have to pay their fees," he said.
