SHILLONG, June 9 -- NPP leader and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong has said his party has maintained a clear stand on the issue related to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)."Our stand on the CAA has been very clear where we have also passed a resolution in the floor of the House," Tynsong told reporters on Tuesday.

His statement also came after some of the regional parties supporting the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government have raised the CAA issue ahead of the election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat slated to be held on June 19.

NPP state president Dr WR Kharlukhi has been declared as the consensus candidate of the MDA for the seat.
