SHILLONG, April 22 -- Mushroom cultivation in Meghalaya is about to get a massive boost as the state is all set to sign an MoU with a Japanese company for cultivating 'Shiitake mushrooms' in the state.Shittake mushroom is locally known as 'tit-tung'.

If everything goes well, the Meghalaya government will be signing a MoU with the Yats Corporation Co. Ltd, a company from Japan, on Tuesday.

Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh informed that under the agreement, farmers from the state will be going to Japan for a three-month training on Shittake mushroom cultivation.
