GSU accuses Assam officials of land grab, flouting lockdown rules

TURA, May 21 -- The Garo Students Union (GSU) has accused the district officials of South Salmara in Assam of encroaching into land belonging to Meghalaya at Moishaldanga Village under the district of West Garo Hills.The GSU, which stated that the matter needed to be probed by the state government expressed surprise that act of 'conspiracy' took place while a nationwide lockdown is in place.
"We wanted to bring this to the notice of the government as the state shares 884.9 km border with Assam and there are critical border disputes between the two states," said the President of GSU, Tengsak Momin.
