U.S., April 17 -- The leading LNG company, Qatargas, has agreed a technology licence agreement with chemicals giant, BASF, for the North Field Expansion Project in Qatar, according to Gas World.

BASF is providing two technologies through the agreement, for both gas treatment and removal under the brand OASE and Flexsorb to assist in the arrival of four new LNG trains in Qatar.

As an important part of the production of LNG, gas removal and treatment technology eliminates impurities like carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide from the natural gas stream in order to enable the subsequent liquefaction process to occur.
