KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 22 -- The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has seized a vehicle and opened an investigation after a foreign tourist was reportedly overcharged by a driver at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the incident, which went viral on social media two days ago, involved a tourist who was initially quoted RM60 for a ride but was allegedly forced to pay RM800 before being allowed to exit the vehicle.

"Following the viral post, I instructed JPJ to track down the vehicle," Loke wrote on his Facebook page.

He added that a covert operation at KLIA yesterday led to the successful apprehension of the vehicle and its driver.
