KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 3 -- Thai authorities have seized two guns from a former footballer arrested over the fatal shooting of a Malaysian man in Golok on Saturday.

Sungai Golok police chief Colonel Jetsadawit Inpraphan said the 31-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday evening, the New Straits Times reported.

He said the weapons were believed to have been used in the killing of the 33-year-old Malaysian man.

The suspect, who hails from Bereng in Sungai Golok, is expected to face several charges, including murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and carrying weapons in public without a permit or reasonable cause.

Police said the suspect, a former Kelantan football player, holds both Thai and Malaysian passports.
