KOTA BHARU, Nov. 3 -- Thai authorities have detained a suspect believed to have shot dead a Malaysian man at a house in Golok, Thailand, last Friday.

The man, who is in his 30s, surrendered himself at the Sungai Golok police station last night before being taken into custody, Harian Metro reported.

A source said checks showed that the suspect also holds dual citizenship in Thailand and Malaysia.

"We arrested him after he surrendered last night and was found to have two identification documents," the source was quoted as saying

Yesterday, local media reported that a Malaysian trader was killed after being shot 18 times by two known individuals at his home in Golok.
