KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 15 -- Sungai Buloh PAS chief Zaharuddin Muhammad was arrested early this morning in connection with the eviction of Kampung Sungai Baru residents, police confirmed.

Dang Wangi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said the arrest took place at Zaharuddin's home, according to a Berita Harian report today.

"Yes, I confirm the arrest in relation to the Kampung Sungai Baru case the other day. The case is being investigated under Section 186, Section 353 and Section 324 of the Penal Code," he said in a brief statement today.
