KUCHING, Jan. 14 -- Police are investigating the deaths of a husband and wife in a house at Taman Mutiara, Jalan Brayun, Sri Aman as murder.

Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the Sri Aman District Police Headquarters (IPD) received a report from a member of the public at 6.55am regarding the discovery of the couple, who were found with severe injuries in an unconscious state.

"A police team from IPD Sri Aman, together with medical officers from Sri Aman Hospital, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

"Initial examinations confirmed that both victims, a 45-year-old man and his 44-year-old wife, had died at the location," Mohamad Zainal said in a statement.
