KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 30 -- Police have recorded the statement of the brother of a six-year-old boy who was seriously injured when his neck was slashed with a knife, as part of the ongoing investigation.
The victim's brother remains under the supervision of the Social Welfare Department (JKM), while both parents were remanded for two days starting yesterday, Harian Metro reported today.
Batu Pahat District Police Chief ACP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the brother's statement was taken to complete the investigation, after police had earlier identified the alleged perpetrator.
Whether the child will be placed under JKM care upon discharge will be decided following discussions between the police, hospital, and JKM, he added.
