SINGAPORE, Sept. 4 -- Singapore's Ministry for Digital Development and Information (MDDI) has reportedly instructed Meta and X to issue correction notices to users who accessed posts by US-based comedian Sammy Obeid, after he failed to comply with a direction under the city-state's fake news law.

The ministry said the order was made under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (Pofma), after Obeid ignored a correction direction issued on September 1, The Straits Times reported.

In his August 27 posts, the Lebanese-Palestinian American performer reportedly alleged that two of his stand-up shows in Singapore were cancelled due to government censorship.
