SINGAPORE, Sept. 12 -- A 70-year-old man was jailed for two weeks here after a rash act while driving caused his wife to fall and suffer severe head injuries that left her bed-bound.

The victim, aged 61, was left bed-bound, unable to comprehend commands, and reliant on a nasogastric tube for long-term milk feeds, The Straits Times reported.

Alias Haji Abbas was sentenced to two weeks' jail yesterday after pleading guilty to causing grievous hurt by a rash act that endangered his wife's life.

The incident began on April 12, 2024, when Alias, frustrated by his wife's constant nagging, left their Woodlands home and drove to Sembawang Park to cool down.
