KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 1 -- Former Kedah Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department chief, Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat, has been appointed as the new Petaling Jaya District Police Chief.

He replaces Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC) Shahrulnizam Ja'afar, who now serves as Chief Assistant Director of Management (Establishment), Bukit Aman Management Department, according to a report in Berita Harian today.

The handover ceremony saw Shahrulnizam present the duty handover note and baton of command to Shamsudin, witnessed by Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar.
