SEMPORNA, Nov. 14 -- Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal is reportedly facing a tough fight in the Sabah state elections as a five-cornered contest has emerged for his stronghold, theSenallang state seat.
According to Utusan Malaysia, Shafie is being challenged by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah's (GRS) Marunda KK Ampong; Parti Impian Sabah's Mohd Lipai @ Samsu Sundalu; former Youth and Sports minister Datuk Askalani Andul Rahim, who is running as an independent; and Parti Perpaduan Malaysia's Abdul Majid Angkulan.
The situation at the nomination centre remained orderly, with security well-managed despite the large turnout of supporters.
