SARIKEI, Sept. 16 -- A female crocodile measuring 10.3 feet in length and weighing about 150 kilogrammes was caught during 'Operasi Nyah Buaya' here yesterday.

Sarikei Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Lieutenant Shahrol Azizi Zaidi said his team assisted the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) in removing the carcass, which was hooked on one of the baited lines.

"The operation to remove crocodiles in several rivers here has been ongoing for the past five days, and today (Sept 15) one of the hooks successfully caught the female reptile.

"In this regard, SFC requested APM Sarikei's assistance to bring the carcass ashore for data collection purposes," he said.

The carcass was later handed over to SFC Sibu for further action. - The Borneo...
