TANJUNG MALIM, Oct. 19 -- Police have recorded statements from eight individuals to assist with the investigation into the death of hiker Mustaqqeem Mansor, 34, who was found dead at Mount Liang last Thursday.

Muallim deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Suhaimi Muhamad said the eight were fellow participants and companions of the victim who had taken part in the hiking expedition.

"The remaining three hikers who also joined the expedition will be called in later to complete the investigation," he told Sinar Harian, adding that they left immediately after reaching the foot of the mountain due to work commitments.
