GEORGE TOWN, Oct. 14 -- The number of influenza and respiratory tract infection clusters in Penang has increased to a cumulative total of 36 in epidemiological week (EW) 41/2025 (Oct 5 - Oct 10).
Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow said there were a total nine clusters between EW 1 and EW39.
From there, the total clusters increased to 10 in EW 40 (Sept 28 - Oct 10).
"The situation is still under control as no deaths were reported and no new mutations were detected," he said, based data obtained from the state health department.
He said the cumulative number of clusters were at 17 as of EW 41 (Oct 5 - Oct 11), bringing the cumulative number of clusters in the state to 36.
