KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 28 -- A pawnshop manager and her boyfriend have been arrested on suspicion of orchestrating a robbery at the Pasir Mas premises where she worked, fleeing with jewellery valued at RM5.7 million last Tuesday.
Five other employees, including a security guard, were also detained to assist with investigations.
The suspects, aged between 26 and 66, were apprehended in separate raids in Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, and Rawang.
Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat told national daily Harian Metro the robbery was reported at 1pm on Tuesday.
The male suspect allegedly sprayed disinfectant and brandished a knife at customers before seizing 10.9 kilograms of jewellery from a safe.
