KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 22 -- Police have seized the mobile phone of a senior assistant teacher at a national school in an Orang Asli settlement in Pekan, Pahang, to assist investigations into the alleged physical sexual assault of a male pupil.

Pekan district police chief Superintendent Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin said the phone was confiscated at about 10pm on September 13 to investigate whether the teacher had stored obscene videos and images, according to online news portal BuletinTV3.

He said the seizure followed a police report lodged by the mother of a pupil from a school in Chini, alleging that the male teacher had sexually assaulted her son.
