KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 11 -- Asean stakeholders have jointly rejected Myanmar's planned military-run elections, calling them illegitimate and a direct violation of the bloc's Five-Point Consensus, following a series of meetings led by Malaysia in its role as Asean Chair.
The meetings, convened by Special Envoy Tan Sri Othman Hashim, brought together representatives from the National Unity Government (NUG), Ethnic Resistance Organisations (EROs), and other civil society and political bodies.
