KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 24 -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed that one of its deputy public prosecutors was arrested by police on suspicion of drug possession.
The officer, who had just reported for duty at the commission last week, was detained at his home yesterday, MACC said.
Police seized substances believed to be drugs during the raid.
"MACC has handed the matter entirely to the authorities to carry out further investigation and gives assurance that it will provide full cooperation," the commission said.
The commission added that it would not compromise on misconduct or criminal activity by its staff.
