KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 3 -- Malaysian rapper Namewee has denied allegations linking him to the death of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yu-hsin, known as "Nurse Goddess", calling the reports baseless and infuriating.

In a statement written in Chinese on Instagram, the 41-year-old said he was "really pissed off" by false news reports and public speculation surrounding the incident.

He clarified that he had not taken or possessed any drugs, adding that "at most, I've been drinking a bit more lately."

"Believe it if you want to, don't if you don't want to," he wrote, urging the public to wait for the results of a police investigation expected to take "two or three months."
