PETALING JAYA, Sept. 16 -- Motorists using electronic number plate flippers to hide or alter their vehicle registration numbers may face legal action under the Road Transport Act, authorities have warned.

In a report today by The Star, these devices, apparently easily available on major e-commerce platforms, allow number plates to be concealed or switched at the press of a button.

Checks by the English daily found the plate flippers priced between RM150 and RM350. One version features a motorised mechanism that rotates the number plate to display a different set of digits, while another uses a sliding panel to hide the original plate entirely.
