MELAKA, Oct. 11 -- Four Form Five students accused of gang-raping a Form Three girl inside a classroom in Alor Gajah have been remanded for six days to assist investigations.
Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the suspects in the sexual assault alleghedly committed on October 2, are to be remanded until October 16 to facilitate investigations under Section 375B of the Penal Code for gang rape, The Star reported today.
The case has sparked outrage and renewed calls for tougher disciplinary measures in schools, with some urging a return to caning as a corrective tool.
