KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 22 -- Mandopop veteran Emil Chau has made Malaysia his second home - literally.

During his concert in Kuala Lumpur on October 18, the 64-year-old singer-songwriter surprised fans by revealing that he had bought a house in the country, Sin Chew Daily reported.

"I've always wanted a house here since I was young," Chau told the cheering crowd.

"Back then, I told myself, when I grow up one day, I'm going to buy a house here. After so many years, no salesperson ever came to me. Even so, I've bought one already."

Chau, who's known for timeless hits like Friends and Flower Heart, said that since owning a home in Malaysia, he no longer feels like an outsider when chatting with local fans.
