KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 1 -- The government has successfully forfeited over RM169 million in cash allegedly belonging to former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The amount, seized by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), comprised multiple currencies including ringgit, Singapore dollar, Swiss franc, euro, Japanese yen, British pound, New Zealand dollar, and Australian dollar.
Sessions Court Judge Suzana Hussin ordered the money to be surrendered to the government after allowing Deputy Public Prosecutor Mahadi Abdul Jumaat's application, as no third party appeared to contest the forfeiture proceedings, Berita Harian reported.
