KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 2 -- Since July 1, over 3,100 Singaporean drivers have been fined a total of RM944,400for entering Johor without the required Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) tags.
Berita Harian reported that theenforcement actions were taken as part of Malaysia's efforts to regulate foreign vehicles entering its territories.
In total 3,148 summonses of RM300 each were issued to errant drivers from across the border.
The VEP system aims to regulate the entry of foreign-registered vehicles into Malaysia, enhancing border security and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
This initiative underscores Malaysia's commitment to enforcing its transportation laws and ensuring that foreign drivers abide by its vehicle entry requirements.
