PUTRAJAYA, Oct. 3 -- A prostitution syndicate that sold sexual services online through WhatsApp and Telegram was dismantled in a major immigration crackdown across Klang and Puchong.
The coordinated raids on Oct 1, dubbed "Ops Gegar", resulted in the arrest of 29 foreign nationals and four Malaysians linked to the trafficking network.
Immigration officials said the syndicate used websites and encrypted messaging apps to reach clients, who were then directed to the first floor of a hotel in Klang.
Thirteen women from Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam were arrested during the Klang raid, along with two undocumented cleaners and two Malaysian handlers.
